wow I’ve been gone awhile …

Posted under Daily Posts No Comments

Well, I got just disgusted with those elephant sized socks. I just the other day unwound the yarn.

I have made many things since then though.

I did lose a couple of pictures thanks to my phone dying :(

I am currently working on a baby blanket to match the pink cammo.

Sock that never will be …

Posted under Daily Posts No Comments

Ok, I probably knit about 3 different socks (only 1) in the same thread. I was practicing and learning, making mistakes, ripping it out and picking a new pattern etc.

I also found that my tension has gotten much looser as I have practiced. This sock could fit an elephant’s leg :P

Here is a pick of the sock where I have stopped (note the color is a bit dingy from all the re-use)

Here is a closeup pic of the lace pattern (dinginess really stands out here!)

And the size, well …, I can put both arms into this sock and still have some stretch left, lol.

I’m done playing with this yarn! I’ve got some beautiful sock yarn that I can’t wait to work on. Based on my sizing issues, I am going to have to go to smaller DPNS. I was using 3′s so I’m undecided if it’s a 0, 1, or 2 that I need.

Anyway, have a happy Wednesday!

Dishcloths …

Posted under Daily Posts 1 Comment

I couldn’t wait any longer so I got started on the dishcloth!

I used sugar & cream on the blue/white one. Here’s the original pattern as written:

I started another one. Also uses sugar and cream in two shades of pink plus Aunt Lidias white/silver held together. I’m changing the design abit just for grins to see if I can!

Now I just need more time to play. Maybe a sick day will be coming on … :P

Happy Tuesday!

Dishcloth swap

Posted under Daily Posts No Comments

I signed up to do a dishcloth swap :)
I’m very excited about doing my first swap. I haven’t gotten my partner’s name yet or their color preferences, but I have picked out my pattern.

It’s a beautiful Three Crosses Dishcloth by Rhonda K. White. Isn’t it beautiful?!?!

I can’t wait to select color and get started on it. It should be quick and done in one-two evenings. Maybe I’ll just make one for me to practice before I send one to my swap buddy!

Ang – are you interested in one? Color preferences?
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!

Itching to knit

Posted under Daily Posts No Comments

I can’t wait to get back to my knitting! I’ve been too busy working on the house and now with my lovely ear infection (TMI) I haven’t wanted to do anything.

I restarted my Coverup and it’s going beautifully! It’s just in hibernation mode right now.

Hopefully my “me” time will pick up soon!

Starting the Beach Cover up (DROPS pattern)

Posted under Daily Posts 2 Comments

Ok, I bit the bullet and purchased some SugarĀ & Cream yarn for my cover up.

I couldn’t resist any longer so I started on it last night. Watching tv, happily trying to knit away and of course what happens? I lose a stitch but it was a yarn over and I can’t recover it. Now I have a lovely hole and then the next 4 stitches were done backwards. To me it is a gigantic hole and the wrong stitches just stare me in the face!

Dear Hubby has been trying to convince me it isn’t noticeable and to not tear it out and start over. I’m undecided. I will take a pic with the phone camera tonight and get some other opinions. It only took me two hours to get to that point, so I guess I could start over without too many tears :|

Happy Friday!!

Tax deadline has passed!!!

Posted under Daily Posts No Comments

Thank God another season has passed :)

Now on to fun stuff! Gotta finish working on the house so we can put it on the market. The excitement is setting in waiting on for what God has in store for us!

I am still working on sock#1 – a lace pattern that has been fun to work on. This one is just practice so I won’t be making the second sock. I’m still playing with my cheap clearance yarn before I play with the pretty good stuff!!

However, my next project will not be socks! It will be a beach cover up DROPS pattern. I need to have it complete by June so I will be buying yarn soon and jumping into that one head on!

Still need a laptop of my own, still need to install camera software so I can upload pics.

Happy Thursday!

technology

Posted under Daily Posts No Comments

Ok, it has become apparent that I need to update myself on technology. I am the only one in the house without a laptop – hopefully to be remedied soon. I have to figure out how to use the digital camera and how to upload the pics to my (hopefully new laptop) computer so I can post them.

All of this in my spare time (*rolling eyes*)

I did no crafting yesterday which is really sad. However, I did finalize my choice on a coverup pattern for the beach. It is a beautiful DROPS pattern that seems simple enough for a fairly new knitter. Now, I get to find yarn!!!!

Happy Thursday!

Wow – a first for me…

Posted under Daily Posts No Comments

All I can say is WOW. This will be a place that I can chat (and maybe sometimes rant a little) about what my current Work In Progress is. Hopefully, I will learn a lot along the way and certainly hope to become more computer savvy!

If you visit, I would love to hear any comments you have – good or bad (but please be constructive)!

Hugs to all and happy knitting!
